I always thought it would be hard to imagine recording without huge consoles and rat's nests of patch bays. Then one day I realized that switching between songs during mix-down was taking only 30 seconds, not the ole' 45 minutes (or worse) it used to. With that came exacting control and automation over every single parameter. So, honestly, I don't miss the good days of 24 track that much.Nevertheless, its nice to have a fader to ride a vocal with...when you want to.
